Easter Bonnet Parade Designs

Easter is on its way and as we all know, it’s time to get crafty! Here at Tiny World, we hope to give you some wonderful ideas that’ll provide you with the right inspiration for the annual Easter Bonnet Parade. Our creations range from simple to elaborate in just a few steps and the great thing is, you and your little one can do these together. If you’re anything like us, then we know you and the children are eager to get started.

Magician’s masterpiece

You may be asking yourself, “how is that anything to do with Easter?”.

Well, this isn’t just any magician hat – yours will be decorated with bunny ears popping through the top!

You need:

How to:

  1. Cut out a pair of large bunny ears from the white card.
  2. Cut out a smaller pair of bunny ears from the pink card.
  3. On both, glue each pink card in the middle of the white card. Leave a little gap at the bottom and fold a tag of the pink card forwards and the white backwards.
  4. Tape the tags onto the top of the hat and they should stand up with help from the tags.
  5. Glue multi-coloured plastic eggs around the base of the hat.

Floral headband

Spring is a beautiful season where the trees become thick with leaves, flowers bloom in a stunning array of vibrant colours and baby animals waddle through the lush grass. With this in mind, it’s time to celebrate Easter with the appropriate “springtime” decorations.

You need:

How to:

  1. Tie the ribbon around the stem base of each flower.
  2. Thread the ribbons attached to the flowers through the headband and tie into a knot. Repeat until it’s completely decorated.
  3. Using scissors, snip the ends of the flowers and excess ribbon.

Carrot crown

Create a comical carrot crown with simple card, pen, scissors and tape. This is the ideal hat for both boys and girls and is certainly a lot of fun!

*TIP: You can also do this by sticking carrots around the base of a straw hat too! Cut in funky angles to create a “crown” shape.

You need:

How to:

  1. Roll the orange card into a cone and tape along the seam to fasten.
  2. Cut a thick strip of green card and fray the ends.
  3. Tape the non-frayed end around the inside of the cone so the green looks like a fringe when you pop the carrot crown on.
  4. Complete with black lines to style the crown.

Sounds good, right… still want more?

Run rabbit, run!

This bunny is a little shy and likes to hide his Easter eggs from the others. This cute design is ideal for both little boys and girls, and a quick way to wow everyone this Easter.

You need:

How to:

  1. Firstly, cover the crown of the hat with cotton wool and glue down.
  2. For the tail, glue a cotton ball on top.
  3. Cut the green foam into a grass scene and glue around the base of the crown.
  4. Fold the orange foam into cones, tape the seams and glue onto the rim of the hat.
  5. Cut a pair rocket style leaves from the green foam and glue to the tops of your orange foam cones.
  6. Cut a pair of bunny feet out of the cream foam and stick both onto the crown, just below the tail.
  7. Cut toes and pads from the pink foam and add to the bunny feet.

We hope our ideas have given you enough to think about and have inspired you to do something different this year! Whether you choose the magician masterpiece, floral headband, carrot crown or run rabbit, run – remember you can always adapt these designs to suit you.
